Meet Kristy
the creative behind Make Mine Mini

Hello! I'm Kristy Lea from Quiet Play. I'm a rainbow lover, foundation piecing fanatic and virtual cheerleader. I'm also Aussie quilter with a passion for sewing.  Next to rainbows (and possibly chickens), it's my favourite thing.

My quilting journey started over 12 years ago and once I discovered FPP, I never looked back.  I love to design patterns with bold, geometric designs, and mine often feature rainbow colourings. But we can totally still be friends if rainbow isn't your thing.

I've been designing FPP patterns since 2012, and fabric (with Riley Blake Designs) since 2020. To say quilting and sewing is my life would be getting close to accurate.

If you love to play with fabric, cut it up and sew it back again, create beautiful mini quilts, then this is the place for you. I'd love for you to join us and create your own quilty magic!

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes – the patterns are designed for intermediate and confident foundation paper piecers. That said, if you’re new to FPP, and you’re keen to give it a go, you’re very welcome! I’ve had beginners learn with some of my more complex patterns and are now hooked on FPP. However if you want to learn how to FPP first, check out the Beginners Club here

You can access the learning platform for as long as your subscription is current. Any patterns released during a current subscription can be downloaded and saved so that you can always access them.  The patterns from the membership are yours to keep forever but you’re responsible for saving them to your own computer/USB/Cloud storage.

Once you have signed up, you’ll receive an email with the login details.  You will need to login using your email address and a password that you have set up.  You will need internet access to use the learning platform, and access to a printer to print off your pattern templates to sew.

Allow up to 15 minutes for the emails to be sent out. Then check that they haven't be filed in Spam/Junk. If you still haven't received any email, contact me at hello@quietplaydesigns.com

Please note: If you have previously unsubscribed from Quiet Play newsletters and emails, you won’t receive any future emails from me. This is a legal thing – so if you wish to receive my emails, you will need to resubscribe to the mailing list.

If you don’t wish to receive Quiet Play emails, you can still access the course at the login page learn.quietplaydesigns.com/courses/makeminemini using your email address and the password you set. You just won't get any email reminders, or updates throughout the membership.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Once you have placed a cancellation, your subscription will cease at the end of that billing period. You will no longer be able to access any of the existing content once your subscription ends, nor any of the new content.

Nope! We have two options. There’s a place to chat and share your makes on the learning platform itself, and there’s also a private Facebook group. The FB community does tend to be more active so you are welcome to join at any time.

Afraid that's a firm no. It is one subscription per person. You cannot share your password or login details with anyone else – guild member, friend, family member, next door neighbour. The subscription is for one person only.

Sharing a subscription or patterns violates the terms and agreements of Make Mine Mini, and it also takes away from my livelihood. This is my full time business and income, and I work hard to provide quality patterns and resources in this membership. I’m grateful to you for respecting that and ensuring you’re honouring my intellectual property (and ensuring my chickens still get fed!).

Fun Projects

I knew I couldn't start another new large project for awhile, so this is perfect for me. I'm enjoying collecting the patterns and will work on them as I can. I love the designs! Thank you Kristy. Your patterns are fantastic!

Super Group!

I just joined and am so glad I did. I have already found all the patterns and read through the information Kristy sent and I am so impressed with the ease of getting around the site and finding what I need. I can't wait to get more involved with this group.

These are so great!

These are so great! I love not having to make a big quilt all the time. And the bonus projects are a plus.

I love it

When you don't feel like sewing a quilt and just want to have fun, this is ideal. Plus, we're always spoiled with an extra bonus pattern.

Kristy Lea | Quiet Play

I'm Kristy - I'm a mama, maker and designer. While I enjoy quilting, I love to foundation piece. There's just something about those perfect points and crisp angles. I've been designing FPP patterns since 2012 and love to fill them with rainbow and geometric shapes. I also incorporate this love into fabric, as a fabric designer for Riley Blake Designs. I want to share my love of foundation piecing with you, encourage you to make the patterns your own, and to build your skills and share your love of sewing!
