Have you been wanting to learn how to foundation paper piece? You love the look of foundation pieced patterns but maybe you've put it off learning the technique as it looks too complex, confusing, and you've heard it's really hard. Then this is the Pattern Club for you! Let me guide you from being a nervous novice to a confident beginner tackling foundation pieced patterns with ease!
The Beginners Pattern Club runs for six months, covering topics such as choosing your fabrics, how-to foundation piece, cut fabrics to the correct size, deal with angles, and generally streamline the FPP process. By the end of the Club not only will you have gained skills and confidence, you'll have a beautiful quilt top to show off.
So what's included?
This course teaches you how to foundation paper piece, but it assumes knowledge of basic sewing and quilting skills such as use of a rotary cutter and mat, quarter inch seam, basic quilt assembly - joining blocks together, basting and binding etc. It's for foundation piecing beginners, not necessarily quilting beginners :)
Payment is a one off payment for the entire course. Pay once then access the course as many times as you like. You can download and keep the patterns forever.
I can't guarantee lifetime access to the videos, but you can access them for as long as they're available on the learning platform (and I plan for that to be a good long time, just can't say lifetime ;) ).
Foundation paper piecing is my favourite technique, and I'm here to take the fear out of FPP. I want to share my love of FPP and inspire you to try it yourself!
The patterns included are designed specifically for beginners, accompanied with videos, resources, plenty of hints and tips, and an opportunity to ask any questions along the way. We'll be sewing nine fun feature blocks, plus the classic flying geese pattern for the borders. Not to mention bonus patterns to help you build up your FPP pattern stash.
The first lesson starts on the 22nd April - but don't worry, there's plenty of info and resources to keep you busy!
We'll then start learning how to foundation piece with our flying geese border, before moving onto the nine feature blocks (shown below). Each is designed to build your skills before we move onto the next block. I'll guide you through how to put the blocks together to finish your quilt.

Makes everything easy
I entered this course knowing that (due to holidays) I would not be able to go along with the lessons and finish it on time. However, I enjoyed the lessons I completed. The instructions were clear and helpful, the layout of the lessons easy to follow. Makes FPP achievable for even the very beginner. And Kristy's designs are so vibrant and interesting, it's a pleasure to make them.

Loved this FPP Beginners course!
Everything about this course suited me - clear instructions, videos not too long, two weeks between new lessons so I wasn't constantly scrambling to keep up, really good build of complexity as new blocks released. Kristi's responses to posts by members are helpful (where needed) and always enthusiastic. Highly recommended :)

Want to feel confident at FPP?
If your answer is yes, I highly recommend this course. I had tried FPP before and was having issues wrapping my head around the concept. This course, with all its instructions and videos, certainly helped me get past my "backward issues". Now I honestly feel I can FPP with the best of them!!

Beginner FPP course
I had never really paper pieced before. A friend convinced me to try Kristi’s class. I love the fact I could take it at my own pace and that all the videos and information were always there. The notes and videos were extremely helpful. I’m still working my way through the lessons but am happy to say I love paper piecing. It is so satisfying to see it come together. I had a few epic mistakes but that’s part of the process! Take this class if you want to learn a really fun new skill from a great teacher!
